Bringing pets into Hong Kong is considerably easier than into other Asian countries.
Pets from Australia, New Zealand, UK and USA are readily accepted provided all paperwork indicating vaccination records is provided and the pet is exempt from quarantine. Pets from other countries may need to undergo extensive quarantine periods lasting anything from 30 days to 6 months depending on your country of origin. In some residences there may be rules pertaining to the keeping of dogs and cats. Tenants should check the House Rules, if any, to clarify this issue before signing the Tenancy Agreement. Repatriating your pet "back home" may prove to be a more arduous exercise for you and a very stressful time for your pet. We would suggest you get very clear information before deciding to bring your pet with you. Moving pets to China Moving pets to Hong Kong
