The Gap Salon, on Maoming Lu, is a spectacle you won't soon forget. This 20,500-square-ft establishment offers its mostly Chinese clientele just about everything -- food, music, dancing, karaoke -- with European decor. A genuine antique Red Flag -- the car exclusively used by Shanghai officials of yesteryear -- overhangs the entrance, hinting at the grandiosity to come. A huge central area evokes an outdoor courtyard. Filipino bands and Chinese dancers take the stage during your meal.
