The American Women's Association is a non-profit organization whose main aim is to support Hong Kong charities and schools through community service and monetary grants. On average, the AWA provides close to HK$1.2 million annually to Hong Kong charities and educational institutions to support programs and services that benefit children, the elderly, handicapped, women and families, community activities and students. This year, the 2nd Annual Scavenger Hunt HK was organized on Saturday, March 12, 2005 as part of a fundraising event! Links Relocations supported the event by participating in the race competing against 12 other teams. There were five of us with Reshma Keswani as the team leader. The race started at 11:00AM at L16 Restaurant in Hong Kong Park. We spent the morning and afternoon hunting for clues, solving puzzles, overcoming "physical" challenges (you pass the fitness criteria for the challenges, if you can walk and chew gum at the same time), taking pictures and "scavenging" for odd items. The clues took us around HK Park through to Star Ferry Central to Wanchai, Happy Valley and Causeway Bay. Sad to say, we didn't win any prizes but we had a ball of a time and we were proud to have raised over HK$4,500 for charity!
